Individual Therapy in Edinburgh & Online

A space that's entirely yours

In individual therapy, there's no agenda to follow, no box to fit into, and no pressure to be further along than you are. It's just you, me, and whatever you need to bring into the room.

Maybe you've been carrying something for a long time. Maybe something recently shifted and you're struggling to make sense of it. Maybe you just know that the way things are right now isn't working — and you're ready to do something about it.

Whatever brought you here, this is a space where you don't have to perform, explain yourself, or have it all figured out. You just have to show up.

What is person-centred therapy?

Person-centred therapy is built on one core belief: that you are the expert on your own life. My job isn't to diagnose you, fix you, or hand you a list of things to do differently. My job is to create the kind of space where real change becomes possible — because you finally feel safe enough to explore it.

01

Sessions are led by you — we talk about what matters to you, not what I think should matter

02

There's no fixed structure or technique imposed from the outside

03

You set the pace — there's no pressure to go somewhere before you're ready

04

I won't give you homework or tell you what to think

05

Change happens because you find your own answers, in your own time

What we can work on together

People come to individual therapy for all kinds of reasons. You don't need a diagnosis, a crisis, or even a clear sense of what's wrong. Sometimes the only thing you know is that something needs to change — and that's enough to start.

Not sure if what you're experiencing is on this list? It doesn't need to be. Reach out and we can talk it through.

Some of the things I work with

Anxiety, worry, and overthinking
Low self-esteem and self-worth
Depression and low mood
Stress, burnout, and exhaustion
Grief and loss
Relationship difficulties and patterns
Trauma and difficult past experiences
Identity and self-discovery
Life transitions and big decisions
People-pleasing and difficulty with boundaries
Neurodivergence, including ADHD
Feeling stuck, lost, or disconnected

What to expect

The free intro call

Before we begin, I offer a free 20-minute introductory call — by phone or video. This is a chance for you to tell me a little about what's brought you here, ask any questions you have, and get a feel for whether we're a good fit. There's no obligation and no pressure.

Your first session

The first session is a little different from the ones that follow. We'll take time to get to know each other, talk through what you're hoping to get from therapy, and start to build the foundation of our work together. It's normal to feel nervous — most people do. You don't need to prepare anything.

Ongoing sessions

Sessions last 50 minutes and typically take place weekly, though we can discuss what works best for you. Over time, many clients find that the frequency naturally shifts as they start to feel more settled. There's no set number of sessions — some people come for a few months, others stay longer. We'll check in regularly on how things are going.

You don't have to have it all figured out

A lot of people put off reaching out because they're not sure they're "bad enough" to need therapy, or because they don't know what they'd even say. You don't need to be in crisis. You don't need the right words.

The first step doesn't need to be perfect — it just needs to be yours.
