Online Therapy for Glasgow — Person-Centred Counselling with Amber Fieldgate

Therapy that meets you where you are — and grows with you.

Clients often come to me feeling unsure, anxious, stuck, struggling with low self-esteem and self-criticism — and leave feeling stronger, lighter and more confident in themselves and their lives.

Hi, I'm Amber

Exhausted from holding it all together? You don't have to carry it alone.

I am a BACP registered therapist with 5 years of experience. I hold a Master's in Counselling from the University of Edinburgh, and I work with people who are ready to understand themselves with more kindness and less pressure, and feel more empowered in their lives and choices.

While I see clients in person in Edinburgh, I also work online with people across Glasgow and the rest of Scotland. Many clients actually prefer it — no commute, no waiting room, just a private, confidential space from wherever you are.

I offer therapy that's:

  • Person-centred (you lead the way)
  • Neuroaffirming (no shame, no fixing)
  • Grounded in curiosity and compassion

In our work together, we might explore things like:

  • Self-esteem and self-acceptance
  • Stress, low mood and confidence issues
  • Burnout, imposter syndrome & anxiety
  • Boundaries, relationships & chronic shame
  • Navigating life transitions

There's no expectation to know exactly what you want from therapy. We'll go at your pace, taking time to understand what's happening for you and building trust as we go.

How Online Therapy With Me Works

Therapy that follows your lead

wherever you're logging in from

I offer person-centred therapy, which means our sessions are shaped by you, not by a fixed agenda or a checklist of techniques. You set the pace. You decide what we explore and when. Working online doesn't change that — if anything, clients often tell me it's easier to open up from a space that already feels safe and familiar: their own home.

What you'll find here isn't clinical distance or careful neutrality. You'll be met with warmth, directness, and — when it fits — a touch of humour to make it all a little more bearable.

I draw on both person-centred and psychodynamic ways of working. A lot of this, for me, comes down to the relationship — creating somewhere that actually feels safe to be honest in. Not performing "fine." Not managing how you come across. Just being met, properly, by someone who's paying attention. Sometimes that means staying with what's happening for you right now. Other times it means looking back — at where a pattern started, what it was protecting you from, why it's stuck around. That's usually where things start to shift.

Together, we'll slow things down, explore what's really going on underneath, and start untangling the patterns that keep you stuck — all from wherever you're based in Glasgow.

FAQs

How much does therapy cost?

Sessions are £65 for 50 minutes. To secure a regular weekly slot, block bookings are available — for example, 4 sessions for £260. A small number of reduced-rate spaces are available — please ask when you get in touch.

What is the free intro call?

A free 20-minute phone or video call where we can briefly chat about what's brought you here and whether we feel like a good fit. There's no obligation — it's just a chance to ask questions and see how it feels.

Do you offer in-person sessions in Glasgow?

Not at the moment — in-person sessions are currently only available in Edinburgh. For clients in Glasgow, I offer secure, confidential online sessions by video, which many people find just as effective — and a lot easier to fit around a busy week, with no travel time needed.

Is online therapy as effective as in-person therapy?

Research consistently shows that online therapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy for most people, particularly for the kind of person-centred, talking-based work I offer. What matters most is the relationship we build together — and that's just as possible over video as it is in a room.

What do I need for online sessions?

Just a private space, a stable internet connection, and a device with a camera and microphone — a laptop, tablet, or smartphone all work well. Sessions take place via secure, encrypted video software, and I'll send you a simple link before each session.

Is online therapy confidential?

Yes. Sessions take place through secure, encrypted video platforms designed for clinical use, not standard video call apps. The same confidentiality that applies to in-person sessions applies online.

What Brings People to Therapy

People come to therapy for many different reasons. You don't need a diagnosis, a crisis, or even a clear sense of what's wrong. Sometimes the only thing you know is that something needs to change.

Some of the things I work with

Anxiety and worry Low self-esteem and self-worth Stress and overwhelm Identity and self-discovery Grief and loss Relationship difficulties Depression and low mood Trauma and difficult past experiences Burnout and exhaustion Life transitions and change ADHD and neurodivergence People-pleasing and boundaries

Not sure if your experience fits? It doesn't need to. Reach out and we can talk it through in a free intro call.
