Online Therapy Across Scotland
Person-centred counselling wherever you're logging in from — Glasgow to the Highlands.
Hi, I'm Amber
I'm a BACP-registered therapist based in Edinburgh, with a Master's in Counselling from the University of Edinburgh. While I see clients in person at my George Street practice, I also work as an online therapist across Scotland — from the Central Belt to the Highlands and Islands.
Many clients actually prefer it. No commute, no waiting room — just a private, confidential space from wherever you're based.
I offer therapy that's:
- Person-centred (you lead the way)
- Neuroaffirming (no shame, no fixing)
- Grounded in curiosity and compassion, not checklists
In our work together, we might explore things like:
- Anxiety, worry, and overthinking
- Burnout, stress, and exhaustion
- Self-esteem, perfectionism, and people-pleasing
- ADHD and neurodivergence, diagnosed or not
- Relationships, boundaries, and life transitions
There's no expectation to know exactly what you want from therapy before we start. We'll go at your pace.
What Clients Say
"Amber was incredibly warm and welcoming, she put me at ease and worked with me in a way that suited my needs. This allowed me to find a new confidence in myself and reset my boundaries." — Tiffany L
"Amber helped me understand how past experiences shaped my decisions. Through her support, I learnt to forgive myself and look to the future with hope. I'm now living a happier, emotionally healthier life." — Hailey A
Therapy that follows your lead, wherever you're logging in from
I offer person-centred therapy, which means our sessions are shaped by you, not by a fixed agenda or a checklist of techniques. You set the pace. You decide what we explore and when. Working online doesn't change that — if anything, clients often tell me it's easier to open up from a space that already feels safe and familiar: their own home.
What you'll find here isn't clinical distance or careful neutrality. You'll be met with warmth, directness, and — when it fits — a touch of humour to make it all a little more bearable.
Together, we'll slow things down, explore what's really going on underneath, and start untangling the patterns that keep you stuck — all from wherever you're based in Scotland.
What Therapy With Me Feels Like
Whether you're based in the Central Belt, the Highlands, or anywhere in between, online therapy gives you a private, confidential space to explore what's going on — from wherever you feel most comfortable.
What therapy with me feels like
A space where even the thoughts you've never spoken aloud can be shared without judgement.
A place to bring pain, trauma, uncertainty, and vulnerability, knowing they will be met with care.
Gentle truths and authentic conversation, without pretence or unnecessary jargon.
Over time, a deeper understanding of yourself, your choices, and the life you want to create.
Because healing often holds both tears and laughter.
Online counselling across Scotland — from the Central Belt to the Highlands
I have dedicated pages for a few cities, with more detail on what online therapy looks like from each area:
Whether you'd call it online therapy, online counselling, or video counselling, the process is the same — a secure, encrypted video call at a time that suits you.
But online therapy isn't limited to those cities. I work just as easily with clients in the Highlands, Fife, Perthshire, the Scottish Borders, Ayrshire, Inverness, and anywhere else in Scotland with a stable internet connection. If your town isn't listed above, that's not a barrier — get in touch anyway. You can also see all of my online therapy locations.
Not sure if online therapy is right for you? Get in touch and we can talk it through.

Is online therapy as effective as in-person therapy?
Research consistently shows online therapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy for most people, particularly for person-centred, talking-based work. What matters most is the relationship we build together — and that's just as possible over video as it is in a room.
What do I need for online sessions?
Just a private space, a stable internet connection, and a device with a camera and microphone — a laptop, tablet, or smartphone all work well. Sessions take place via secure, encrypted video software, and I'll send you a simple link before each session.
Is online therapy confidential?
Yes. Sessions take place through secure, encrypted video platforms designed for clinical use, not standard video-call apps. The same confidentiality that applies to in-person sessions applies online.
Do you work with clients in rural Scotland or the Highlands and Islands?
Yes. Online therapy means location isn't a barrier — I work with clients right across Scotland, wherever you're based.
Can I switch between online and in-person sessions?
If you're able to get to Edinburgh occasionally, we can usually be flexible about mixing online and in-person sessions — just raise it with me directly.
My city isn't listed on your locations page — can I still work with you?
Yes, absolutely. Online sessions are available anywhere in Scotland (and the rest of the UK) — the cities listed are simply where I have the most detailed local information.
Are you an online therapist for the whole of Scotland, or just certain areas?
The whole of Scotland — as an online therapist, location isn't a limit. From the Central Belt to the Highlands and Islands, if you can get online, we can work together. I also see some clients elsewhere in the UK — just get in touch to check.

People come to therapy for many different reasons. You don't need a diagnosis, a crisis, or even a clear sense of what's wrong. Sometimes the only thing you know is that something needs to change.
